Easy Cheese Bread Recipe No Yeast

This is the easiest and quickest bread ever! Made without yeast in no time. Such a great recipe for first-time bakers. Makes a perfect side dish when you’re in a hurry.

This speedy, easy – to – follow and less messy no yeast bread with cheese and onion is soooo good! Made with baking powder, milk, plain flour, grated cheese and sautéed onion.

Goes well with almost anything from garlic – milk dip, beef stew to creamy leek soup. Definitely a must try!

What you’ll need to make super quick and super easy cheese bread no yeast

  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 300 g (2 ½ cups/ 10.6 oz) plain flour (all purpose flour)
  • 250 ml (1 cup + 1 tablespoon/ 8.5 fl.oz) milk
  • 150 g (1 ½ cups/ 5.3 oz) grated cheese (you can use any mild cheese of your choice)
  • 1 medium onion
  • A pinch of salt

You’ll also need

  • Bread dish
  • Oil for cooking the onion
  • Small pot or sauce pan
  • Parchment paper
  • Spoon/ spatula or both
  • Hand mixer with whisk (OPTIONAL)

How to make cheese and onion bread without yeast

Begin by preheating the oven to 200 °C (392 °F) with both up and low heat. Peel and chop the onion finely. Heat the oil in a pot over medium heat and cook the onion until lightly brown. Let cool for few minutes.

In the meantime combine baking powder, flour, cheese and milk in a bowl. Add the cooled onions and mix until you have a smooth dough.

Put the dough in a bread dish lined with a parchment paper and bake for about 30 minutes or until nicely golden brown.

I found your recipe and I went past it a few times but did finally look at it and it looks like a good recipe! Just wanted to let you know your photos look good but lack the warm tones that make it look appealing very white pale look. Just thought I’d let you know so you get more visitors to your recipe! I’m going to give it a go but I’m going to use self rising flour instead of the dry ingredients. Thanks!
