- 300 g (2 ½ cups/ 10.6 oz) plain flour (all purpose flour)
- 250 ml (1 cup + 1 tablespoon/ 8.5 fl.oz) milk
- 150 g (1 ½ cups/ 5.3 oz) cheese, grated any
- 1 medium onion
- a pinch of salt
- olive oil for cooking the onion
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
Begin by preheating the oven to 200 °C (392 °F) with both up and low heat. Peel and chop the onion finely. Heat the oil in a pot over medium heat and cook the onion until lightly brown. Let cool for few minutes.
In the meantime combine baking powder, flour, cheese and milk in a bowl. Add the cooled onions and mix until you have a smooth dough. Put the dough in a bread dish lined with a parchment paper and bake for about 30 minutes or until nicely golden brown.
- Feel free to use you any grated mild cheese of your choice.
